Introduction
Under the responsibility of the Headteacher, the HR coordinator supports the managers and the Board of Directors on all matters relating to the Human Resources of the institution.
Minimum Requirements
Experiences:
• 10 years of experience (HR)
• Operational management experience is a plus
• Desired HR Training (Master in HR, Social Law or equivalent)
• Experience in a multicultural environment would be a plus
Expected skills:
• Anticipation qualities
• Excellent operational qualities adapted to the needs
• Strong personality
• Reactivity, risk assessment capacity
• Sense of dialogue, listening skills, excellent interpersonal skills and ease in the negotiation process
• Excellent command of essential English.
• French speaker is a real asset
• Expertise in local social and labor law (including jurisprudence)
Job Specification
The HR coordinator will have the following main tasks:
Advice and support to operational staff
- Daily management of relations with our HR councils in coordination with the Principal (on legal evolutions, contracts, collective agreement)
- Ensure follow-up of employees (career management, training, remuneration, staff file, welcome booklet and end of the contract procedures)
- Formalization and monitoring of the recruitment process
- Organize and follow the relations with the representative bodies of the staff of the establishment.
- Ensure respect for Kenyan labor law and the requirements of the AEFE.
- If necessary, call on specialized expertise (internally or externally).
- Provide support to managers in the application of labor law and the development of teams (recruitment, career management )
- Support operational staff in their HR decisions (recruitment, exit, evaluation interview, promotion, conflict, social litigation, etc.), help them integrate the HR variable into their strategic decisions.
- Define and ensure the application by the operational staff of all HR procedures.
Participation in the definition of the HR strategy of the establishment
- Advise the principal on the HR strategy (reforms, HR improvements, harmonization of employment contracts, ...)
- Understand and develop the HR strategy of the institution according to the population managed.
- Determine the flagship projects according to this strategy and the expectations of the operational staff (bring them back to the headmaster).
- Designing staff recruitment and retention schemes in the specific context of a French institution abroad
Implementation of HR projects
- Conduct independently the multiple HR projects corresponding to the HR strategy: implementation of the Human Resources Information System, organization chart, working time organization ...
- Monitoring and updating job descriptions
- Coordinate activities, monitor and control implementations.
- Set up monitoring, HR reporting and evaluation tools
- Evaluate the operational satisfaction with the HR delivery and expected results.
