Our Client in the NGO sector seeks to recruit a County Programme Director who will lead the planning (+budgeting), implementation, monitoring and evaluation of organization programme, in accordance with the organizational standards and strategies.

Cooperation and Reporting Relationships

Lead the planning and budgeting of the organization’s programme

  1. Lead the development of projects design and implementation.
  1. Identify local funding sources and apply for grants and other forms of local income, such as donations-in-kind and government subsidies.

Coordinate the implementation of programme interventions

  1. Ensure that the programme operates in accordance with the organization’s policies and procedures.
  2. Support the development of a strong network of partner organizations formalized through a Memorandum of Understandings (MOU).
  3. Participate in local, national and regional forums.

Build a strong programme team

  1. Lead a professional recruitment process for new staff in consultation with the CEO.
  2. Ensure that orientation programs are carried out for new staff to enhance a good understanding of the organization and their role within it.
  3. Ensure effective performance management systems are implemented for all programme staff.
  4. Ensure that individual staff/volunteer training and development is supported accordingly.
  5. Be a supportive and understanding leader inculcating a culture of learning and openness amongst staff and volunteers.

Financial management and administration

  1. Oversee the appropriate allocation of programme resources, in line with the approved annual plan and budget.
  2. Ensure that the organization’s financial resources are used effectively and efficiently.
  3. Ensure adherence to organizational financial and administrative procedures.
  4. Support the internal and external programme audit processes.

Support mechanisms of ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the programme

  1. Ensure timely monitoring and evaluation system is in place.
  2. Interpret and disseminate monitoring and evaluation results to relevant stakeholders to inform implementation.
  3. Prepare and share timely programme progress reports.
  4. Provide updates on specific programme activities as required.
  5. Document and share good practices and lessons learned with colleagues to support organizational learning.
